Rectifiers

Technoserve installs a full range of rectifiers and rectifier system solutions for any industrial application. Low Current Rectifers (Compact), Medium Current Rectifers and High Current Rectifiers provide DC current in the range from 500 to 550'000 Amps as single or multiple units, up to 5 Mega Watts.

Typical Technical Configuration    
Main Technical Features The self-supporting rectifier frame is built of aluminum profiles having specially designed channels for most effective cooling by de-ionized water or a glycol mixture flowing inside. The inside water channels are routed and welded in such a way that extensive outside hose connections are not needed anymore. Semiconductor and fuses are cooled on both sides by high efficiency cooling boxes. Except the joint to the transformer bushing the complete rectifier structure is without any bolted conductor connection. The clear design allows easy and quick access to every rectifier component. Plant maintenance personnel are able to replace the semiconductor within a few minutes with no need for special tools. For long-term best conductivity at the rectifier all contact areas are nickel-plated. Each semiconductor path is equipped with a high-speed current limiting fuse for selective isolation in case of a failure. If desired, the built-in redundancy allows nominal load operation even with one semiconductor per leg out of service. In such a case the striker pin with its micro-switch or a Rogowski-type fuse supervision identify the faulty element. To eliminate the risk for a secondary flashover the semiconductor stack is designed with unique "plasma containment" protection. Additionally arc resistant phase barriers eliminate the risk of a phase-to-phase flashover. Electrically the rectifier is protected against hole-storage effect surges and overvoltage disturbances coming from the network by a suitable rated capacitor circuit arrangement.

Typical Technical Configuration    
Semikron’s flat Semistack power assembly simplifies system design. Flat and compact converter/inverter power assembly is facilitated by using low-profile SEMiX IGBTs and bridge rectifiers as well as a novel DC-capacitor arrangement. The new range has a convenient rail system for easy racking of IGBT inverters from 50 to 120 kW and is suitable for most standard industrial applications. These modules boast a maximum width of 130 mm to facilitate easy mounting and dismounting in electrical cabinets. This is realised through a drawer arrangement with guiding rail system. The cooling fan can easily be removed for maintenance and the power assembly extracted with minimum system down-time. The flat design allows multiple mounting in electrical cabinets, not unlike a bookshelf arrangement. A centrifugal fan rack system below the power assembly cools down the pressed-fin heatsink to achieve an optimum thermal efficiency/volume ratio.
